Saying Goodbye to 2013

Saying Goodbye to 2013 is very bittersweet for Organization Direct. As we welcome 2014 and bid goodbye to 2013, I have a lot to reflect upon. So

Goodbye 2013
Happy New Year

many great events, moments, friends and experiences that have helped change my thoughts and attitude helped Organization Direct celebrate a banner year!

Being an Entrepreneur isn’t easy. It takes time, energy and the commitment to continual education to make sure that I am staying up with trends, social media and that business continues to grow.  As I wrap up year #7 of business, I’m amazed at the lessons that I have learned and the Blessings have been abundant.

This year, what is your heart grateful for? Is it family, friends, associates, or maybe a new job? If you are thinking that you don’t have a lot to be grateful for, remember…the little things count also! Just getting to know someone new who changed your life can be a grateful moment.

For Organization Direct, we are grateful for the connections that we have made…yes, through Social Media! All of the hard work has paid off. In 2014 we will be launching a brand new program for Veterans. And, even though you may be saying…huh? How does an Organizing Consultant or a Professional Organizer develop a program for a Veteran? Just watch and see. The Press Release will be released next week.

Since a huge part of my life is my family, I am also grateful for a wonderful little girl, my children (including my son-in-law) and my little grandson (who is the cutest little man ever!) They have been patient with me, understanding when I need to be adjust my schedule, working weekends (sometimes) and supported me through the year.

Another addition to our business for 2014 will be our local television show called AnOrganizedMind.  When I found out that this opportunity existed, I have to admit that I was scared, nervous and a bit overwhelmed at the idea. Finding time for the show was my first dilemma. Then, after sitting down with my awesome friend, and coach (Melanie Yost) I quickly realized that I can do this. It was part of my overall plan and strategy for business. I had to step outside of my comfort zone and “Do It”.

One last point of gratitude is for my University of Mary Washington intern, Caroline Frantz. She came to the rescue in so many ways – even with an extremely heavy workload. She provided me with all of the extra social media, marketing and blogging that I needed to help me through it all.

The biggest impact for my family was an awesome 2 week road-trip to the mid-west. My husband, daughter and I drove to Utah and attended the Young Living Essential Oils Convention. We met Darren Hardy, CEO of Entrepreneur Magazine. His recommendation to stay focused and organized and reach your goals was this…Just change one small thing at a time. At that moment, my husband gave up his sugar addiction to Dr. Pepper! And, yes, just that one small thing made drastic changes in his attitude and health.

Start 2014 by making just one small daily change and take it from there. I’m confident that this time next year you will be making your gratitude list as well.
